Respite care

Respite care supports carers, giving them a well deserved break to focus on their own health and wellbeing.

RDNS NZ works with primary carers to arrange a suitable time for the respite to occur whilst ensuring your person is provided with the care they need.

Why is respite care important?
  • Gives carers the opportunity to take a break for a short period of time from their normal caring duties.
  • Allows carers time to take care of their personal business and maintain relationships outside of their responsibilities as a carer.

Social support

Staying engaged with your friends, family/whānau and local community is important and has many mental and physical health benefits. Our support workers can help you stay connected to your local community in various ways.

What social support could look like for you:
  • Helping you keep up with your hobbies
  • Sharing a cup of tea with you
  • Community engagement

We can research and arrange these types of activities.
