How much do services cost?
Many of the services we provide are government funded. You can find out more about the cost of services here.
What does 'RDNS' stand for?
'RDNS' stands for Royal District Nursing Service. RDNS is part of Australasia's largest and oldest provider of home nursing and support services, RDNS Group, established in 1885.
What is the 'restorative model of care'?
At RDNS we believe that independence is key to maintaining a healthy mind and body.
Our restorative model of care is the operational framework we use to provide you with the best possible services. It allows us to focus primarily on client needs.
Using the restorative model of care, we will support you to be the best you can be and to safely reach your maximum level of independence. We encourage your family and friends to support you along the way.
The friendly staff at RDNS understand that maximum independence looks different for every individual. We will work within your limitations so that you can be as independent as possible, for example:
- Jim can independently wash his upper body, so we encourage him to do this, and our support worker bathes only his lower body
- Lois is bed bound but she can sit up in the bed and turn from side to side independently, so we encourage her to keep up these movements to be as active as possible
What is your privacy policy?
RDNS respects your right to privacy and confidentiality at all times. We comply with the privacy and process requirements of the Health Information Privacy Code 1994. Our staff will not discuss your personal information with any other person unless you give them permission to do so.

Within 24-hours of receiving your referral one of RDNS's care managers (a registered health professional) will contact you to arrange a time and date that is suitable for an initial visit. From here, we'll work together with you and your family to discuss and develop a support plan to best meet your needs.
