RDNS New Zealand welcomes the appointment of experienced health leader Henare Mason to the RDNS NZ Board.

RDNS NZ CEO Carmel Conaghan said Mr Mason brought extensive experience in health promotion and Maori health advocacy supporting national policy development.

“He is a strategic thinker with proven commercial acumen and a strong record for building robust, long-term positive relationships across sectors, and is a welcome addition to our independent, skills-based Board,” Ms Conaghan said.

Mr Mason currently holds positions as Chair of the Ngati Pango Ahu Whenua Trust, an elected member of the New Zealand Maori Council and the Maori Council Executive, Hapu representative on the Te Arawa Maori Council, Board member of the National Maori PHO Coalition and Board member of the Novavax Vaccine Trial.
He has a strong commitment to Maori tribal development and a particular interest in health equity, research and children’s health.

Ms Conaghan said as a member of the Board, Mr Mason would guide the work of RDNS NZ in line with the organisation’s values of Manaakitanga, accountability, teamwork, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The organisation’s initiatives this year have included establishment of a Maori Advisory Group comprised of Kaumatua, Kuia and Maori staff.

Through its Kaupapa, RDNS NZ works to align the client journey with the cultural needs of Maori clients and whānau.
