RDNS (Royal District Nursing Service) has won the Best Home Care Operator category in the Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2015 in Singapore. The award was made at the 6th Ageing Asia Investment Forum conference dinner where 300 international delegates from business, government and community sectors are gathering to discuss the challenges of ageing populations in the Asian region.

With a finalists’ field of six organisations from Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Australia, the judges selected RDNS as winner after considering its strengths in home based healthcare, nursing and support services, underpinned by world class quality and safety frameworks, consumer directed care (CDC) philosophies and leading ICT solutions including telehealth.

Chairman of the RDNS Board Mr Paul Montgomery said he was delighted with the win.

“We are very fortunate at RDNS to have dedicated teams of people across Australia, New Zealand, China and other parts of Asia whose mission is to provide care for people in their senior – or silver – years,” Mr Montgomery said.

“Many countries are grappling with specific challenges that were quite unforeseen not so long ago: people are living longer, chronic disease is more challenging than ever and the cost of aged care is stretching public purses to uncomfortable limits.

“We are constantly addressing these issues through our home care operations, our research, our partnerships with government, industry and education institutions and through our education and training activities that now have an extensive reach into Asia.

“We very proud and honoured to have won this award,” he said.

RDNS New Zealand is a wholly owned subsidiary of Australian based provider RDNS (Royal District Nursing Service Limited) and is operated and managed in New Zealand. RDNS has been providing home nursing and support to seniors, veterans and others since 1885.
